Love Island USA’s JaNa Joked About PPG Group Chat Before Kenny Split: ‘Would Get Canceled So Quickly’

Love Island USA‘s JaNa Craig poked fun at the PPG group chat she shares with her former Islanders shortly before her now-ex-boyfriend Kenny Rodriguez was accused of making rude comments about her in a private text chain.

JaNa, 28, was asked about her bond with fellow Love Island USA season 6 stars Leah Kateb and Serena Page in a profile published by Elite Daily on Friday, August 1, to which she quipped, “If only you guys knew what we say in that group chat. We would get canceled so quickly.”

The interview, which took place before JaNa’s split from Kenny, 24, highlighted the PPG (PowerPuff Girls) friendship.

“Obviously, we love our other girls from season 6, but there was this unspeakable bond between me, Leah, and Serena,” JaNa added. “When the cameras were turned off, we were still there for each other — it wasn’t just a TV screen type of thing.”

JaNa, Leah and Serena, both 25, have remained close since filming their season of Love Island USA in June 2024. They ended up in the top 3 when the show came to an end, with Serena winning with boyfriend Kordell Beckham. Leah and boyfriend Miguel Harichi were runners-up while JaNa and Kenny placed third.

Earlier this year, the trio and their respective partners reunited to film Peacock’s spinoff show Beyond the Villa. JaNa and Kenny ultimately called it quits while new episodes of the series continue to air.

“Hi my loves. Thank you for all your love & support. It means the world to me. As you know, Kenny and I [are] no longer together,” JaNa wrote via her Instagram Story on Tuesday, July 29. “Please know that I have seen all the breakup theories and none have matched up to how terrible, disgusting and disappointing it truly is. Discovering that someone you loved isn’t who you thought they were and that the relationship you thought you were building hasn’t been genuine since day one has been truly devastating. Thank you for respecting my privacy and please know as a child of God, I will always be OK.”

Kenny subsequently issued his own statement.

“The past few days have been incredibly difficult. I’ve been quietly sitting with a lot of emotions and doing my best to process everything privately,” he wrote via his Instagram Story at the time. “Breakups are never easy, especially in the public eye. Sometimes, despite how deeply you care for someone, you come to the hard truth that the relationship was not something that could last long-term.”

Shortly after Kenny broke his silence, JaNa made it clear that their breakup was not amicable.

“Stfu you manipulative liar,” JaNa wrote via her Instagram Story. “You not taking accountability and telling people the type of person you really are is insane to me!! My first statement was me being nice. Do not piss me off.”

Rumors have since spread about Kenny allegedly insulting JaNa in a group chat with his friends. (Kenny hasn’t publicly addressed the claims and hasn’t responded to Us‘ request for comment.)

JaNa’s friend Charmane Smith hinted at the speculation in a post after JaNa’s split from Kenny.

“Never spare a man … Dog them out babygirl,” she wrote via Instagram on Tuesday. “My advice for women in relationships: if you have access — go thru [sic] your man’s phone TODAY. Search keywords like ‘I don’t like black women, I thought I would get more money from this, I’m faking this relationship, going on the show would be for clout, I can’t wait to be done w this so I can f*** hella bitches.’”
