Tailoring has always been Ralph Lauren’s strong suit.
His flawless fits were on display at his fall 2025 fashion show, held under historic coffered ceilings in Tribeca’s Clock Tower Building. An array of dapper boldfacers including Anne Hathaway, Ariana DeBose, Sarah Catherine Hook, Eiza González, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kacey Musgraves, Naomi Watts, Michelle Williams and Sadie Sink graced the front row.
“I’m very much feeling like a boss,” said “West Side Story” alum Ariana DeBose, nattily dressed in the designer’s gray chalk stripe suit and tie. “This look perfectly balances my masculinity and my femininity at the same time,” the actor and singer told Alexa.
A few seats down, “The White Lotus” star Hook opted for a blazer dress, button-down shirt and tie.
“We’re going all the way back to Ralph’s beginning,” explained the Alabama native, who played spiritual but spoiled college student Piper Ratliff on the hit series. “He started in the necktie business,” she added, referring to Lauren’s 1967 launch of Polo ties, which evolved into the all-American luxury lifestyle powerhouse.
“Basically, my stylist provided me with a bunch of options,” she continued. “I saw this on the rack and I pointed at it and said, ‘That’s what I want to wear.’ I put it on, it fit like a glove and now we’re here and I’m the luckiest girl in the world.”
Hook is currently looking for her next dream role – and a place to live in Los Angeles. “That’s where all my stuff is in a storage unit, so that’s where we’re going.”
Hopefully her new digs will be at least as nice as the Buddhist monastery in Thailand where Piper slept for a night, before deciding against moving there because of the bland, non-organic food and lack of air conditioning. Viewers noted that the character’s room at the wat was actually spacious and welcoming. “It’s certainly nicer than any of my apartments that I lived in in New York, that’s for sure!” agreed Hook.
González also sported a sharp suit. “For me there’s something so effortlessly elegant and timeless about menswear that I really enjoy,” she said. “And no one does it better than Ralph Lauren.”
The actor is gearing up to promote “Fountain of Youth,” Guy Ritchie’s action-adventure film premiering May 23 on Apple TV+. “We filmed in Egypt and Vienna and Bangkok and London. It was an incredible experience and I really enjoyed every second of it. And Natalie Portman and John Krasinski are two of the most dynamic human beings,” she said of her co-stars. “It was just constant laughs and smiles.”
“I love that I get the chance to work with [Ritchie] for the third time in a row. He still directs me, he still makes me do different things here and there,” she continued. “I feel like I can really experiment with him and try different things and he allows me to be constantly in search of something,” she said. “Every role has been incredibly different for my film story, so I’m very grateful for it.”
Lauren’s collection was as evocative as a movie. Not surprising, since his fashions have been showcased in iconic flicks like “The Great Gatsby” and “Annie Hall.”
Named “The Modern Romantics,” the line featured a dark, moody palette and tension between different aesthetics. He sent out both leather and lace, embellished and minimalist pieces, precise blazers and ruffled blouses, sleek dresses and a distressed aviator jacket, accessorized with the new Quinn bootie and the Ralph satchel. Standouts included a romantic embroidered ivory lace gown, a rugged leather boilersuit and a double-breasted trouser suit.
It was boss.
