A hit-and-run driver plowed into a birthday party in Maryland Saturday evening, killing a woman and injuring 13 people, according to authorities.
Eight children were hurt in the crash, which took place around 10 p.m. in Bladensburg, a suburb outside of Washington, DC, Bladensburg Police confirmed
The young victims ranged from a 1-year-old to a 17-year-old. Six adults were also injured, Fox 5 reported.
The woman killed in the crash has been identified as Ashley Hernandez Gutierrez, 31, of Washington, according to cops.
At least three adults and one child remained in the hospital Sunday, authorities added.
Photos and videos from the scene captured a white sedan smashed into a tent on the lawn of the home where the party took place.
The driver, who has been identified as a 66-year-old man, fled on foot but later turned himself in to authorities.
Charges have not yet been filed against him.
The incident remains under investigation.
